Load the Locker

Load the Locker, our second signature project focuses on hygiene products. Through valuable research and discussions with representatives from Bryan and College Station Independent School Districts, it is clear that there is a huge need for these necessities in our community.

In 2021 the average annual expenditure on personal care products per consumer unit was $385, which was a significant increase of $100 more from 2020 (statista.com).

And the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the consumer price index rose 9.1% from September 2021 to September 2022, which was the largest increase in four decades

Both Project Hope at BISD and Chrissy’s Closet at CSISD help to provide hygiene and personal care items for students on free or reduced lunch programs. 76.9% of BISD and 36.1% of CSISD populations qualify for free or reduced lunch programs, which means about 17,000 students in our community may not have access to items needed to attend school clean, warm, and ready to learn.

Load the Locker was officially announced as our second signature project in May of 2023.
