Junior League’s Charity Ball Raises Over $340K for Local Children

The Junior League of Bryan-College Station, Inc. (JLBCS) hosted their annual Charity Ball on Saturday, December 8, and raised in excess of $340k to donate back into the community.

Over 700 people attended the Havana themed black tie event at The Hall of Champions at Kyle Field. Guests were treated to a red carpet entrance, photos under the lights of Kyle Field, dinner, dancing, and live entertainment. The live auction portion of the evening brought in over $72k, while the silent auction and raffle sales totaled an additional $114k.

“We are humbled by the attendance and generosity at this year’s Charity Ball,” said Sarah Schlabach, JLBCS President. “Our members worked incredibly hard to put together a fun evening, and we are extremely pleased with the amount of money we were able to raise to benefit the children and youth of Bryan-College Station. We are incredibly grateful to our sponsors, guests, and everyone who helped to make this evening possible.”

Charity Ball is the largest fundraiser for JLBCS, and helps the League to issue grants and scholarships, and supports their signature project, Stuff the Bus. Current organizations supported by JLBCS include Scotty’s House, the Brazos Valley Food Bank, Family Promise of BCS, and the Boys and Girls Club.

The purpose of JLBCS is exclusively educational and charitable.
