JLBCS Announces 2019 Scholarship Recipients

The Junior League of Bryan-College Station, Inc. (JLBCS) is proud to announce the recipients of our 2019 Endowment Scholarship. These two outstanding young ladies have proven themselves as dedicated students and members of their community through their academic achievements and volunteer service.

Leah McAleer is the daughter of Kristin and Mike McAleer. She is a senior in the top 8% of her class at A&M Consolidated High School; after graduation, she’ll attend Baylor University to study Biochemistry. Leah plans to pursue a career as an anesthesiologist. She volunteers at Baylor Scott & White, College Station Medical Center, CHI St. Joseph and Aggieland Pregnancy Outreach. Leah is a 3 year varsity letter on the A&M Consolidated Women’s Golf Team and president of the Protectors of the Pride student organization and the National Charity League.
Olivia Williams is the daughter of Lisa and Les Williams. She will graduate from Bryan Collegiate this spring and will begin her collegiate career at the University of Texas–Tyler. She plans to study nursing and speech communications and pursue a career as a pediatric oncology nurse. Olivia has an extensive history of volunteer service that includes over 250 hours of work with the Brazos Valley Food Bank, 780 hours with the Aggieland Humane Society and over 500 hours with Heroes 4Health. She’s a Texas Youth Advisory Board member for Souper Bowl of Caring and an accomplished 4-H member.

Both recipients will be recognized at the annual JLBCS end of year meeting on May 7 at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center.
