What is the time commitment to joining the Junior League of Bryan-College Station?
- Your Provisional Year will begin in May with a Candidate Orientation. Each month thereafter, you will attend one Provisional Meeting and beginning in September, the General Membership Meetings, as well. The General Membership Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month with the Provisional Meetings on the second Tuesday. Most meetings are held in the evening though some day meetings (11:30) are held periodically throughout the year.
- To help with fundraising initiatives, approximately 24 hours will be spent working with the Charity Ball and Bargain Blitz Committees. Typically, Charity Ball is held in November with Bargain Blitz in March.
- Hour opportunities will be available to help with In-League Committees as needed.
- Community, Community, Community...the remainder of your time will be spent in the community working on current projects as well as the possibility of a class designated project.
- * In total, approximately 80 hours will be spent on League activities, including meetings. This is very manageable as the course work is over a year-long period.
What is the financial commitment to joining the Junior League of Bryan-College Station? Below is an overview of recent requirements.
- One-time registration fee of $40.00.
- Annual Dues are $100.00. Your Provisional Year, dues will be due in June for the current year and then the following February for the upcoming League year.
- Charity Ball quota can be reached in a variety of ways including a $100.00 monetary donation,reservation purchase, or as a sponsor.
- Bargain Blitz- a donation of goods in the amount of $75 or more is required for Bargain Blitz. (Only $25 in clothing of the total donation may be counted towards the quota.)
